Entrance

The pathway to the house slopes gently upwards and the front door has two steps, 15cm high and then 8 cm high: the door is 81cm wide.

The entrance is straight into the reception area which has a wooden floor, a non-slip rug and a seat.

All guests are asked to sign their pre-printed booking form. Car registration numbers are recorded and non-UK residents are asked to provide their passport numbers.

All the facilities are explained to the guests, they are shown the lounge and
dining area within the conservatory and garden, and are then escorted to their room(s).

A bell is provided in entrance hall for guests to call for assistance.

Public areas

The house has central heating, with individual thermostatic room controls. All areas are well lit and we are replacing traditional lights with low energy bulbs wherever possible.

The lounge is carpeted throughout and has large sofas and easy chairs. Guests are offered tea or coffee and home made cakes upon arrival and these are served in the lounge, in the conservatory, or outside if the weather permits, after they have settled in their room.

Access to the bedrooms

There is one bedroom on the first floor, together with the private bathroom. The other two bedrooms and the inter-connecting en-suite shower-room are on the second floor.

All of the bedrooms are accessed via a carpeted staircase: each flight has thirteen closed treads. The staircase turns through 180 degrees between each floor and has a built-in wooden handrail and balustrade throughout its rise. The staircase is 78 cm wide and the individual treads are 20cm high and 24 cm deep.

Dining Area

Breakfast is served in the dining area within the conservatory. All guests are served at one central table which can seat six persons comfortably. The table surface is 73cm high with an underspace of 62cm and has legs at each corner All dining room chairs are without arms.

Menus can be provided in large print and most dietary requirements can be catered for (all guests will be asked if they have any special requirements in advance)
